Les Mondes De Bonnard

I took some time out from studying to go with L for the last day of a special exhibition of impressionist paintings by Pierre Bonnard. It’s my favourite genre but I was not familiar with his work. The exhibition started with landscapes from Paris, Provence Mediterranean coast and the Seine in Normandie. Then it gradually became more intimate with scenes looking outside rooms then scenes inside the rooms, finishing with a number of nude scenes of his partner Marthe of over 30 years. Lastly self-portrait in front of a mirror. Great experience and window into the life of a great artist
