A Day of Two Halves

I walked with A this morning, out at Cley Marshes.  The tide was in when we walked the beach section of the walk so our legs got an extra workout as we had to trudge along the shingle, the smooth sand at the shoreline was underwater.  We rewarded ourselves with coffee on the beach, where I saw this black-headed gull.  He's developing his black head ready for the breeding season.

The marshes were teaming with widgeon and geese (see extra with a misty Blakeney church in the background), all sounding wonderful, not to mention the first skylark that I've heard this year.

After a quick lunch I met B & H for a walk around the NT Felbrigg estate.  There was a watery sun trying to penetrate the clouds but not really managing it very successfully.  It was a lovely walk nevertheless, punctuated by an excellent coffee and plenty of chat in the middle of our figure-of-eight route.

Home, with my feet up now!
