New Zealand native bush...

...covers the hills up behind our bach at Lake 
Tarawera. This view is from our bedroom window and the trees are home to many native birds.. kereru (native pigeon),piwakwaka (fantail), rifleman,tui, ruru (morepork) as well as thrushes, sparrows and blackbirds.
We have no street lights and the night sky is breathtaking beautiful with the constellations of the Southern Hemisphere.
