New Viking Statues Near Fulwood

Six new Viking Statues have been planted near a roundabout as you take the north route off at Junction 31A of the M6 and you head around the Ribbleton Industrial Estates towards Grimsargh. There are 6 futher statues junction going south so why are there no road called Viking Way instead we have Roman Way and Roman Way Industrial Estate. Were the planners having a laugh ?
