Lucky 13

Yeovil were at home tonight to Slough Town and won 3-1 to record their 13th home win of the season (they’ve drawn the other 3 so remain unbeaten at home) and go 13 points clear of their nearest rivals again.

Although it was a closer game than the final score suggests, they weren’t really lucky to win, looking comfortably in control for much of the match; if they’d taken one or two of some good early chances they’d have settled the outcome much earlier.

The blip shows latest signing Ollie Thomas (he’s just re-joined us on loan from Bristol City, having been on loan with us at the start of the season before being recalled and loaned out to Newport County for a while) leading the celebrations at the end of the game. It’s become a bit of a ritual this season for the latest signing or player of the match to step forward and take the leading role in celebrating with the fans.

With the game on tonight and our usual hectic Tuesday afternoon ritual with Sophie, I gave golf a miss this morning.
