On the glacier

LARGE shows the ice texture better

Stupendous 6th Day in Iceland, with the day starting with a 6 Km ride across to Ingólfshöfði island to photograph Great Skuas and Puffins, which you can see here and here - which was amazing. We lunched by yet another incredible waterfall, and after lunch drove through the village of Vik and its wonderful church surrounded by lupins. From there we journeyed on to Dyrhólaey to shoot more volcanic sand beaches and stone arches. Late afternoon, we drove along a long dirt track to the Sólheimajökull - a wonderful glacier that we were even able to walk on - this is an ice arch within the glacier - and by the time you look at this, it has probably collapsed. - Even details of the melting ice were interesting.

We ended the day at a hostel by the Skogafoss falls - which I hope to shoot in the morning.
