Thunderstorm

arrived at 8:30 this morning and took up the protective covering from the floor of the second bedroom, moved the wardrobe back into place, put the light fittings back up and installed the new smoke alarm, and helped MrMacD move the bed and mattress back into the room.  He then tidied up his gear before saying goodbye.

As soon as A had left, we walked down to the Opera House for the usual Friday morning get-together over coffee.  We had an enjoyable morning then walked back home.  After lunch I cleaned the window frames in the conservatory area and we started to put the blinds up.  The first two were easy, but the last two defeated us.  It seems that we’ve been sent the incorrect joining bracket, so will have to wait until Monday to sort it out with the manufacturer.  Never mind, we’ve got other blinds we can put up over the weekend.

We got MrMacD’s study area organised and I cleaned all the dust off that had accumulated from the work that’s been taking place.  I did the same for my study area.  We managed to move the Ikea bookcase into the conservatory area, where it fits in nicely.

Over the next few days we need to move everything from the third bedroom into the second bedroom so it’s ready for painting next week. Moving things around seems to be never-ending at the moment, but it will end in the not-too-distant future.

It was a very dreich afternoon with thunder, lightning, rain, hail and wind, although it’s all calmed down this evening.

There is an event that takes place every October in Wellington called the World of Wearable Art WOW. One of the entries this year was from an Oamaru-based artist and her design is currently on display in the Opera House.
