Lamborghini

In 1948, Ferruccio Lamborghini started making tractors. In the 1960's he decided to make sports cars to compete with Ferrari, the separate automobile company did reasonably well until 1973 when a worldwide downturn proved problematic.

In 1974, he sold the sports car company and four years later it was bankrupt. After several ownership changes it now belongs to Volkswagen.

Lamborghini Trattori continues to manufacture tractors as a separate entity.
