Imbolc snowdrops

Imbolc, and the snowdrops in the garden are flowering, if a little reluctantly. Maybe they're keeping their petals tightly closed in protest at the persistent wind and rain we've had recently!

We brought these snowdrops (in pots) and a few other bulbs with us  from Northumberland, and planted them here. Resisted buying any bulbs in the Autumn in the hope that some had been planted before our time, but apart from a few crocuses that are beginning to appear it seems not. On my walk into Holmfirth this afternoon I bought some daffodil bulbs in pots, and next Autumn I shall plant lots more!
