If you can't beat them...

Long-tailed Tit ( Aegithalos caudatus )

A quiet day at home, thankfully the guests in the Lodge are in for 11 days so no cleaning today.

I looked out of the window at one point and there were 8 Long-tailed Tits either on the nut feeder or queueing.  We not infrequently get what I take to be family groups moving through during winter.  Usually, there aren't more than four or maybe five.

The blip was a toss up between this one in the Magnolia and four on the nut feeder.  Perhaps if I had filled the feeder when we got back from Amble I they would have been able to get more than the 4 in the extra on to the feeder.
