Intruder alert!

      OK.  So it's not a first sight, I caught it as a Bud about a week ago. I decided this was nearer full flower.  I wasn't best chuffed at the daytime shot so snuck out after dark and got this.
     It wasn't until it was on Computer that I spotted the miscreant; which brought forth a thought - thusly:-
      When did the Butterfly/Moth lay its egg(s) to bring forth a Caterpillar so soon - OR - where has s/he been lurking over winter &/or are they equipped with anti-freeze, as some animals seem to be?
