The Red Roof Cafe

One of Mylo's recommendations for Skye was a visit to the Red Roof Cafe and Gallery in Glendale. As we followed the signs up the winding single lane road, this is what we found, red roofed and in a state of advanced dilapidation. Fortunately, if you carry on another 100 metres or so, you find the Red Roof Cafe, very underelict, serving scrummy cakes, delicious tea of their own blend and excellent coffee. Thank you, Mylo!

It was so good that we will be going back, definitely on Friday evening to see a concert, and quite likely in between. The concert is with a singer called Edwina Hayes, who far from being a home grown, Gaelic singer, hails from Driffield in East Yorkshire, very close to where Wifie grew up.

Here we see Gus in training with Wifie (out of shot), waiting for a his gravy bone incentive for sitting still for a photograph. The collapsing barn behind was a stressed building blipper's dream: rusty corrugated iron roof, a painted door hanging off, and a motley collection of debris inside.

ps This is a backblip. Gus had a big adventure on Monday.
