An eventful morning.

Had a GP appointment at 9:30 am which was a good one. Dr Suny is lovely. It was mainly to discuss my result on the CT scan re calcification of the coronary arteries and she was quite reassuring. She is referring me to a cardiologist as I get chest pain (I've had this for over a decade and was told it wasn't my coronary arteries then) and has prescribed GTN spray for me to try but she said if the calcification was severe they'd have advised a cardiology appointment with the result. She said most of the targeted lung results are coming back re calcification as it's common with age. I knew this really as I'm a retired nurse but it's different when it's yourself - you aren't able to think quite so objectively!
After that I went to Tesco for petrol and hopefully to collect the new prescription the GP sent to them and grabbed a few bits in store. The prescription hadn't come through so I went to get my car washed on Prescot Road then called in to see mum as she lives nearby.
On my way home I thought I'd nip in Taylor Park to see if the daffodils were flowering and to have a look at the snowdrops. Only a few daffs were in bloom but the snowdrops were lovely. See main and extra.
I went to go back to the car and half way there I went flying, falling full length on the tarmac, with momentum! My mobile phone, that had still been in my hand from taking photos, took off before landing with a thud - a bit like me! I think it was a stick (perfect round one) that I stood on which acted as a roller. I thought I'd saved myself at one point but then launched myself onto the path. A crowd came to my aid and wanted to get me up but I wasn't for moving before I got my breath back and could tell what was hurting and how bad! Dave the Ranger took the lead and everyone helped me re a coat under my head and a jacket over me etc. An ambulance was called but I cancelled it once I knew I hadn't broken anything.
People helped me up and my legs managed not to give way so they sat me on the bench for a bit and once I felt I could walk, Dave the Ranger took me to the Visitor Centre and made me a brew. He'd already phoned Terry.
After a short time I felt much better and Dave escorted me back to my car, leaving his number if I needed more help but I was fine to go. He even rang me a bit later to see if I got home okay. I have bruises and grazes and the arthritic joints haven't enjoyed the experience but it could have been worse.
Also, I discovered that there is a rare bird (rare in this country) that's turned up at the lake there - a ring necked duck, which Dave the Ranger told me is like a tufted duck. It has come a long way and cannot fly back to where it comes from due to prevailing winds. Bird watchers were coming to have a look at it. It's surprising what you find out when you have a mishap!
So grateful to all the people in the park who came to my aid and of course to the Ranger.
My phone survived thanks to the case it's in and as I reached the car Tesco pharmacy texted to say my prescription was ready! Typical. It'll keep.
I haven't done much since then - had a nap on the settee in the afternoon and nursed my wounds!
