Daffodils

A day of lots of small tasks, most of which were successfully accomplished.
This evening we attended a meeting of Winchester Cafe Scientifique to hear a talk about "The onset of modern Plate Tectonics " given by a very knowledgeable Professor Craig Storey of Portsmouth University. I  will admit to finding it quite a challenging listen, but it was mind blowing to be reminded just how old Earth is, and how the continents keep moving together, and then apart again, over the course of millions of years, and how parts of the Earth's crust disappear into subduction zones while new crust appears through volcanic eruptions.
It is truly awesome!
Meanwhile, we can still enjoy a simple pleasure of life such as a bunch of daffodils.
