Busy, busy!

We went to Castle Espie this morning for a walk. We managed, quite by accident, to time our visit perfectly! The tide was on it's way in, and as the water moves closer the wading birds are moving in front of it, so there was lots to see. There was a huge number of Shelduck and as the sun caught them, they looked amazing. We saw redshank and greenshank, oyster-catchers and godwit, Brent geese and greylag, egret and heron, and some beautiful teal. It was a particularly good time to see the birds, so a very successful visit. The coffee afterwards was pretty good too!
