Chooks in the Rain

It rained again today, a steady drizzle from morning until mid-afternoon. We drove to Summerland Farm on the Alstonville Plateau for coffee with friends.

The Farm is an interesting place. Its website describes it as ... a place of inclusion – providing employment for people with a disability. Summerland Farm is one of the most successful disability enterprises in Australia – perhaps the world.

I admire its ethically-sound open range chicken farm. As we left today, most of the hens were taking shelter from the rain.
