La Fly en Rose

To coin a phrase, so to speak.
While out for a stroll this afternoon, near Argaty, we found some path-side raspberries which were just coming into flower and were heaving with bees, wasps and hover flies. Among the rasps was this wild rose and one of the hoverflies decided to check it out. So considerate of it.
As our lodgers have now moved out, I took down the bird box to clean it out and repair the split in the front. I never look forward to this task and, once more, I had the sad task of retrieving a tiny blue tit corpse from the nest material. (Mostly moss and dog hair) Well, at least the bl**dy magpies will not get that one!
