Last weekend, because of the gales, we postponed a plan to have a friends' gathering and set this Saturday as the new date. Coffee and cake.... across the Barriers in Kirkwall is what we are hoping for. However now we have a yellow weather warning for snow and ice. 

Just this winter we have started to see much more detailed information being made available about what to expect on the roads across Orkney, Tonight's up-date is that tomorrow we can expect 'significant disruption  at the Barriers due to wind and wave conditions'. 
I'm not very hopeful for that trip tomorrow.

On a more positive note, I'm knitting a scarf and planning a jumper.
