Year of the Dragon

Tens of thousands of people turned out to watch the Spring Festival Parade in Vancouver's Chinatown today, the 50th anniversary of the parade. It's also known as the Lunar New Year Parade. This is the Year of the Dragon. Kalyn loved geckos when she was younger and had a pet gecko named Izzy. Geckos and dragons belong to the lizard family, so I decided to blip the gecko that Kalyn and family brought back from Mexico for us a few years ago. Changed the title of yesterday's blip to Sea Dragon from Sea Monster, for the Year of the Dragon. Should have thought of that.  :-)
Krista's school celebrated the Chinese Year of the Dragon last week. Her Kindergarten class made two dragons for the "parade" and performed a dragon poem. Parent were invited to come in to watch. I've included a photo that she sent us of one of the two dragons made by her class. So cute!  :-))
