(042) The EIMCOs

I spent a couple of hours today digitising 35mm slides. This image is a view from the Alcan factory in Burntisland which used to produce alumina for metal production and chemical applications. The EIMCO filters were vertical disc vacuum filters used to separate aluminium trihydroxide solids from the caustic liquor used in the process of extracting alumina from bauxite ore.

Music tonight is another album/artist that I missed out on back in my formative years when music was only available on a random basis on the radio or by taking a chance with a hard-earned fiver at the record store.
