Different location, same frustration...

There's a theme emerging here. The week before last I was disappointed at failing to gain entry to Beddington Farmlands nature reserve, which occupies the site of an old sewage works. Today I decided to walk to the Hogsmill Nature Reserve, which takes up a large part of the old Berrylands sewage works. I think you can guess what happened! This was not quite as aggravating as the Beddington experience insofar as only a reasonable walk was involved rather than a slightly convoluted train and tram trip. The big takeaway from both these debacles is that you simply can't trust the information supplied by Google maps wherein both sites are blithely described as being open 24 hours a day!

All this is a rather long winded explanation as to why I can only offer you a shot of this, admittedly rather fetching, squirrel which was doing its best to evade photographic immortality by dodging in and out of the bare branches whilst filling its little face on fresh buds and catkins. The squirrels feats of escape and evasion were nothing compared to those of the dunnock in the extra shot, which I've only included for comedy value.
