There is no way we could ever afford to stay in a 5 star hotel like the new W in Edinburgh but I wanted to see the view from the top of the “Turd” so we went up to the 11th floor and had a coffee.   The 360 degree views really are good especially from the outside terrace on a lovely day and must be spectacular when many of the prominent buildings are lit in the dark.   This is the view to the east looking over one of the spirals towards Calton Hill and Arthur’s Seat.
