Sparkling In Sunshine

All the open water of yesterday froze overnight leaving these wonderful protruding ice sculptures glistening in the sun.

The difficulty I faced was how to make a successful capture because the extreme highlights were just so bright.

I tried underexposing, but raising it back up in post produced an ugly mess in most cases. I think this frame worked quite well as there is a lot of variation in the surface texture. It looks quite surreal.
