 Well, I intended to Blip my tea but Andy the plasterer had a free day and came round to sort out the fireplace. This is quite a long story…

 
·   11 December 2023 my fire service was booked and the fire was justifiably condemned.
·       A like for like replacement was ordered.
·       22 December 2023 he came to fit the new fire.
·    The 50-year-old plaster wasn’t good enough and there were some other safety issues.
·       Then it was Christmas,
·       9 January 2024 Andy gave me a quote but before he could do the work his contracts took him over 100 miles from home.
·   But today it was done – what is surprised Andy was that the thermal board was £100 – damn inflation.
