Northward Bound

Finally, a dry and partly sunny day. I spent several hours in the garden, pruning bushes and trees, until my hands and back protested from the unfamiliar work. My friend B had a day off and came to help me, putting all the garden waste into three huge bags and taking them to the recycling centre. 

While we worked, we heard this small flock of cranes, and watched them circling and gaining altitude in the thermal over the Rhine valley. They were quite far away, so it's not a great photo. But I just had to blip the first cranes I saw this year.
