Rainy day blues

Some mighty pancakes last night ( I started off with red cabbage and baked beans which might have been a mistake, followed by lemon and sugar) and then an interesting talk in Ballydehob. Appalling weather on the way home followed by a very damp and gloomy day today. These four fellas were not impressed and sheltering from the rain, though they do have their own large shed. The poor little house behind is looking very black with damp now too.
Off out again tonight - book club and the title to be discussed is Apeirogon by Colm McCann. I am a big fan of his work and this is a colossal achievement, but I struggled. I may have felt differently before October 2023. Though the powerful and ridiculously straightforward message remains the same - we need to stop killing each other and talk - the prospect looks very bleak at the moment.
