Dressing the timber

The project has recommenced. I'm building a Limbert occasional table using a thick, dark and heavy African hardwood called Danta. Here I've started to dress the 4 pieces that will become the legs. I'm using and old wooden try plane to remove the rough, unfinished surface. It's hard work, but I have to get both faces flat, true and smooth, and this is how you do it with hand tools.
