The unexpected walk

We had a walk planned for today but it was raining quite hard so we decided to have lunch in the lodge and then make a decision.

It was still raining at lunch time so we played a round of Uno, Nigel one and then we decided to brave the weather.

The other day we picked up a leaflet of local walks that someone had dropped. There was a walk to the Sluggan Bridge that we’d never done before so we decided to walk there.

As we approached the old bridge (on General Wade’s road) we met a couple with their three dogs. They said that we could make the walk into a circular one so on their guidance we carried on. It did mean crossing the river several times. One of those times meant that I had to be brave and jump. We walked about 8 miles. You can see that bridge and the pack horse bridge in the extras.

As it was our last night here we’ve been to the local hotel for dinner. It was delicious.

Tomorrow we are meeting a friend for lunch and staying over with other friends before driving home on Saturday.
