Happy 12th birthday Ella

We packed most of our stuff for our trip for tomorrow though I might need more layers as the forecast isn’t too warm.

We went to Whitley Bay and picked up James (9) from school. He thought tomorrow was Valentine’s so
needed a card for Emma. Nathaniel (10) gave and received gifts with his girlfriend Elsa. Thomas (11) and Ella (12) have no interest in such stuff. Thomas showed me his grade 9 Polomon card which has been valued at £70. James is telling him to sell it but he thinks it might go up in value.

We got caught in traffic getting to Gosforth but had time to give Ella, 12 today, her present (red checked pyjamas and €s for her forthcoming ski trip). She had her first go on a dry slope after school and loved it. Everyone sang Happy Birthday to her on the bus.

Nathaniel told us about his audition with Danny Boyle. They did various exercises and he had to act a part with Danny Boyle. Such an amazing ing experience. The other boys there were all older than him but he felt quite happy and enjoyed the experience.

Leoni, a neighbour, joined us all for a birthday dinner at Barluga. It wasn’t great - the chef dropped Leoni’s burger on the floor so she had to eat her fries while they made her another. Mr C’s fish was very over-cooked but Luke’s was ok. This is why I’d rather eat out rarely but go somewhere good. However Nathaniel and Ella loved their halloumi burgers and they all had mocktails. It was a lovely evening.
