Patricia at Golitha Falls

Went across to Saltash to visit Patricia who is a very talented quilter and very interested in art and I took her to Golitha Falls on a very misty day with lots of rain but when we got to the falls the rain abated. It was very soggy underfoot in places and the river was much fuller than it had been when I was there at the beginning of January! The river Fowey used to have salmon running up river but no longer. The river runs through a beautiful beech wood which is inhabited by numerous birds, none of which we saw but many heard! The car park was fairly full when we got there it being half term, and it was heartening to see so many families out enjoying the countryside despite the gloomy day! It was quite magical to see the trees draped in mist and the light was mysterious!
