Surprise visitor

I think by looking at my bird book that this is a Long Tailed Duck, spotted on the canal very close to where I live. I have never seen one before. A visitor from the Arctic I believe. There seemed to be a female close by. It had been a good day anyway but this somewhat crowned it.
