back in the day - when having tea in - the afternoon was a - fairly standard practice - it was not uncommon - for one to use - tea tiles to place their - teapots onto to protect - tabletops from getting - burned or scorched - by the heat of said teapot - many households might have - 3 or 4 different tiles to - use with their pots - and they’d range from - very simple tiles to - very ornate in nature

i have a variety - of antique teapots and once - i learned of these tiles - became really intrigued - with them and began - to search them out - to compliment my teapots - this is one of - several i now have - which i like since it - straddles the distance between - elaborate and simple - it is handpainted porcelain - which most likely - dates to 1910 and brings a smile - to my heart leading to…
