LOCK IT UP!

I spent the day 100 miles away at a State sanctioned Sectional wrestling meet to determine which wrestlers will qualify for the state meet next week in Madison, our state capital.

Our little school took 4 wrestlers to the Sectional meet.  One for sure (our 144#er) will be going to Madison as he beat his second opponent of the day with a 2 point take down in the first few seconds of an overtime match that was tied 5-5 after regulation time.

Wrestlebacks are still taking place to determine which of the remaining wrestlers will travel to Madison.  The top 3 in each weight class will attend next week.

Girl's are also wrestling at this Sectional.  I will add another EXTRA in a little bit of our girl wrestler.  She won her first match in a dominant fashion.  After a beautiful single-leg takedown she quickly turned her opponent (in blue) and here she wins the match by pinning her opponent's shoulders to the mat and earning 5 team points.
