First Walk

With the weather being kind to us for the first time this year we took ourselves of down the coast and repeated one of our standard walks, leaving the car at Archerfield walking to Yellowcraigs beach, along the coast to North Berwick and back via the John Muir Way. The weather was fine and dry with no chance of rain but we saw the effects of the storms on the beach to the West of North Berwick where the movement of sand has revealed the last remnants of the Verein a wooden brigantine which foundered on the beach in October 1881. He was a bit of course having sailed with a load of oak timber from Stettin in Poland and destined for Sunderland. The was no loss of life from the 7 man crew due to the stranding.

The extra is the first flask tea of the year, not very tea flavoured but warm and wet, so that’s good.

Distance walked – 18km. Steps – 27500

I was a bit puggled when I got home but the beer with IainC afterwards was most appreciated.
