Winter's Grip

Ice along the bank of the inlet is in shade in the afternoon and consequently shows up as blue. A shaft of sunlight just as it dipped over the edge catches an oak leaf emerging from the ice in a contrasting orange.

Of course, it's really the ice receding and not the leaf breaking free from winter's grip, but that narrative is more appealing.
