A Trip To Stroud

It's only a 16 minute journey but going on the train is the fun part.
£11.50 for the three of us, return too. We did this a couple of years ago On the right side of the tracks | djrose007 | Blipfoto and it was just as much of a thrill.
When we got to Stroud we looked for a café. The idea was to have cake and a drink but we picked on 'Café Max'. It was verging on being a greasy spoon but we had a lovely meal of Cheeseburgers and Chips for the girls and I had a Chicken BLT, no chips thank goodness as the BLT was huge and very filling.
We enjoyed the café, the girls went through about a dozen sachet's of Ketchup and loved it.
Back to the station, which was pretty much just around the corner, and a short wait before the return train.
The train itself, both ways, was a GWR Intercity (Great Western Railway) high speed train, not the local shuttle type trains so the girls loved that too. It goes from Cheltenham to Gloucester, Stonehouse, Stroud, Kemble, Swindon, Didcot Parkway, Reading, London Paddington. It's the train I used to catch in my working days when I went to attend meetings with BT but the one I caught was at 06:19 in the morning!
Pasta and cheese and Chicken Noodle Soup for teatime and 'midnight feast' (at 7:30) teeth clean and off to bed at 7:50.
