Withdrawal Wednesday

Wimbledon's been a bit tasty today hasn't it? Lots of drop-outs, lots of upsets.

Would've been great if I could have seen some of it alfresco and unbuffered. It's one of the great joys of summer for me, watching all the sport that's on outside with your feet up and a beer coffee in hand. But, with the increasingly decreasing broadband service we seem to be stuck with around here* it wasn't for happening today. Had to do a Federer/Sharapova, admit defeat, and withdraw back indoors to watch it on the big telly. Withdrawal Wednesday indeed. Another good Murray performance though and it's looking better and better for him going all the way.

*Apparently, whilst the rest of the households around here are having the opportunity to upgrade to a speedy fibre-to-the-cabinet connection, out estate has been deemed 'commercially unviable' for some unfathomable reason by our local council. I'm pretty sure the 80 or so houses would jump at the chance to pay someone to bump our miserable half to one meg connections to something that's useable and fit for purpose nowadays. One of the local MP's on the case, but I'm not holding out much hope. Be easier moving house. Which is rubbish.
