The disruption is almost over

A the painter was determined to finish the painting today so he can clean up tomorrow and then he’s done.  He managed to get the two top coats on the lounge and the entrance hallway and tomorrow will clear out the coverings on the feature wall and the floors, put back the switch plates, re-hang the door and help us move the furniture back into the lounge, entrance hallway and the second and third bedrooms.  It will be so good to have everything back in place and be comfortable again.

The double glazing is now all done, except for the big window in the entrance way, which requires some thought and collaboration between the window company and our builder.  It’s something they’re used to doing so we know they’ll come up with a solution.  It’s so good to have a French door that fits properly and is secure.

The tiler can now come back and put the silicone round all the tiling, and the carpet layer will then be able to do the carpet repair from where we removed the fireplace in the lounge.

We did a trip to the Waitaki Resource Recovery Park this afternoon.  It’s such a good facility and the staff are knowledgeable, helpful and friendly.  We had lots of recycling and, unfortunately, some rubbish to go to landfill too.

The blip shows the new French door and side panels.  The extra shows the French door and panels as they were.
