Bird

IT IS HERE. As I walked I saw it by the roadside: a black figure breaking and arranging sticks and leaves. Quite casually it turned to look at me, though I could see no clear face, before walking away. I called after it but it did not turn. And although I ran and it only walked, somehow I could not catch it.

I am beyond fear now. Indeed I am no longer sure it means me harm. Can it be trying to send a message of some kind? If so what does the message mean?
