DELIVERY

Today was dull, wet and windy, yesterday was a much better day of sunshine and blue skies so this photo was taken yesterday.
New Storm and Foul Drains are being dug around the camp site and golf club in Stromness.  Here, some pipes are being delivered and discussed.

The day before, when I was inspecting the shreddies for damage, I found a deceased shag, it maybe flew into the fence between the boat yard and the camp site.  It had a ring on, so we removed it and sent the details in by email.  We heard back that this bird was ringed by Isle Of May Bird Observatory as a nestling, sex unknown on 06-Jun-2023, at Isle of May, Fife. It was found on 17-Feb-2024 at Stromness, Orkney, 256 days after it was ringed and 311 km from the ringing site.
Extras:  The bird and its journey (although it wouldn't have actually gone as the crow flies).
