Old fishing boat

The weather forecast for this morning wasn’t looking very good so most of us decided to stay in. It was good to have some time to catch up on various things.  There was some very heavy rain around lunchtime which cleared away fairly shortly afterwards. While we were eating lunch a white tailed eagle was spotted close to the house.  I spotted it landing on a distant mound and a little while later another stopping by it.  I did take a couple of images but they were not very clear and a long way away.  The extra through probably has it in the distance.  Great to see.

After this we set off in sunshine to explore an area of beaches not far away.  Our first stop was Cliff Beach (Camas na Clibhe).  We hadn’t gone down to the beach by car so walked down the hill which is covered with grasses and moss.  It was very windy and the waves were crashing in.  Sand was being blown across the beach but we spent some time photographing waves and sand patterns.  Our next stop was Valtos where we walked down to the small pier which had a couple of old boats around it.  We arrived at Reef Beach quite late in the afternoon and decided it was probably worth visiting again.

As we were doing a circular route across the dunes we came across a small jetty at the side of a loch with an interesting old boat moored there. A few photos were taken. Visible across the loch was Meavaig with several large fishing boats moored there.

We returned home with a cloudy windy sky but surprisingly there was a small sunset visible towards the sea but by then I was already downloading my images.
