Huangshan - Yellow Mountain

Suddenly, after the 1000 mile journey South, the weather is mild and rainy and we can take a layer of clothing off. This is the view downstream beside our apartment in Tangkou, old village. The small streets on either side of the river peter out into a cart track that leads through  small agricultural gardens and on into mountainous public forest with giant bamboo dominating.
Behind, the huge bulk of the Yellow Mountain itself is shrouded in cloud, that swirls and parts mysteriously. Through the ages artists and poets have come here to be inspired and create their own masterpieces. It is now a UNESCO site and still considered a sacred place.
Our apartment is clean and neat but the floor is swimming with water - is this a leak or a by-product of it raining every day? Jeremy Fisher would feel at home here.
