Sweet violets

We have a very tall, well established Pittosporum tree. Old, decayed branches have fallen off, leaving a natural hole which has filled up with leaves and blown - in sand.

It forms a natural bowl for these delightful violets to find a home.

If you look carefully, you can see at least three tiny seedlings, the result of seeds dropping from the parent tree into small openings and subsequently sprouting.
