Pop Up Duck

A beautiful frosty and sunny morning. I decided to make a quick visit to Fishers Green after lunch. The roads were flooded deeply in places. The river was very high and flowing swiftly. The great crested grebes' second nest, which they built after their Valentine's Day one was washed away, has been inundated too. :(

I hadn't gone far when it started pouring and I had to make a quick retreat to the Bittern Hide for shelter. Nothing very interesting or unusual showing. This mallard drake popped up. Ubiquitous but so beautiful.
