Squacco Heron - 36

It was very windy here today and we walked along the estuary hoping to see the flamingoes but there were none around. However kwdiane spotted this bird which we later identified as a squacco heron. As far as I can make out it is scarce, migratory and only expected from April onwards so we did remarkably well seeing it.

This means that my photos of the black winged stilt (bird 37) and zitting cisticola (my favourite bird name - bird 38) have had to be added as extras

Thanks for continuing to look at my blips and apologies again for the lack of comments while I’m away.
