Time to kill on the harbour

There are two reasons for us to visit the city, grandchildren and medical appointments. This week we’re lucky, we have the lot!!
We had some spare time this evening so we caught the ferry from Mosman Bay to Circular Quay and back, the whole adventure costing only $5 due to our advancing years.
The main blip and first extra are of course the Opera House. The Coathanger extra is obligatory.
The third extra is a rather confused and disrespectful image of the flagpole on the ferry. The top two, although in almost unrecognisable condition are the Australian Red Ensign (merchant navy) and Australian White Ensign (RAN). Next is the aboriginal flag designed and adopted about 30 years ago. On the bottom is the even more recent LGPTQ pride flag. Conspicuously missing (anywhere on the boat) was the Australian Blue Ensign which has been the official national flag of Australia since 1901. Can you imaging the equivalent ferry in America, Japan or France not having the national flag? A sign of the times!
It’s possible the Blue doesn’t need to be flown with the Red but naval ships all have the blue on the bow and white on the stern.
