History

Whatever people think about killing moths and butterflies, these have been dead around 50 years and were taken at a time when Lepidopterists killed and set specimens.
My friend John and I used to trap moths together back in the early 1970’s and today he gave me back what was left of our joint collection from that time ( 3 boxes like this).
I was very happy to receive them, and read the data tags attached to the pins, often with my maiden name on them. From now on they will live in the dark in my wardrobe, and I shall continue my hobby shooting the moths with my camera, and releasing everything I catch!
