First Day of Autumn

The traditional European/American seasons don't make much sense in the Northern Rivers, or in much of Australia. So although today is officially the first day of autumn, we don't expect to see any autumnal colours or falling leaves around here. Indigenous people had very different systems and a prominent botanist has proposed a five-season yearly calendar.

This afternoon I walked around the neighbourhood and found many frangipani trees still flowering.
