Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh.

Sally is very interested to see the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh.

Her late husband, Oliver Bailey Hudson III was President of the International Society of Arboriculture between 2003-2004.

The RBGE features extensively in my Blipfoto entries. Sally was surprised at how many rhododendrons were in flower as today’s entry shows.

Oliver would have been very interested in the variety of trees and shrubs that populate the garden.

Kim was quite intrigued with the wind harp featured in the extra photo. Despite the wind being quite active the harp remained silent.

I suspect the fact that the strings had been removed may have had been a factor in the stubborn silence.

Both were interested in the restoration process of the 200 year old Palm Houses. This is described in great detail in a series of videos in the main building on Arboretum Place.

After a full day we deposited Sally and Bailey at their hotel for the next two nights just off the Royal Mile.

They had plans for a day of shopping in Edinburgh. We arranged to meet up again on Thursday after they had visited Edinburgh Castle and enjoyed a tea in the restaurant.
