LBB15

Seeing as Love Blippin' Books has been on the go for over a year and there are a few new people taking part, I thought it was time to just clarify what it actually is... just to stop it from getting a bit vague. There are very few 'rules' as such, so here goes:

- At the start of the month there's a prompt with a corresponding tag #LBB1, #LBB2 etc.

- You can chose any book/s you like based on that prompt, some prompts may be quite specific, others may be more vague and allow you to interpret the prompt how you like.

- You don't have to finish the book within the month, but when you do finish, use the correct tag for the month's prompt so people can search for them.

- Unless the prompt is specific (to a genre for example) you can choose fiction, non-fiction, children's, YA etc.  Audiobooks count, as do graphic novels (again, unless the prompt is specific).

- When you have finished the book, tell people about it (with the correct #tag) - write as little or as much as you like.

- You can link the write-up to your day's photo but you don't have to. The group is about reading and enjoying books not necessarily photographing them, so your blip doesn't have to be a photo of the book.

- The books are meant to be read (or attempted to be read, you may give up if it's dire!) each month... just like a Book Group in the real world.

If any of that doesn't make sense please give me a yell! And with all that boring stuff out of the way, here goes for this month...

Love Blippin' Books for March
March Prompt: Women Writers
March Tag: LBB15

To correspond with Women's History Month and International Women's Day, I'm inviting people to read books written by women. There are extra Brownie points if you read a book either written by, or about, an inspirational woman... this could be a scientist, adventurer, suffragette etc. Also, Brownie points will be awarded for STEM* books (fact or fiction) written by women. A few links to ideas are below:

Books about or by women in STEM

Thanks to everyone who took part in February, and thank you to Livresse for hosting, the books others read are here. I read 'The Moomins and the Great Flood' by Tove Jansson, and am still reading 'Comet in Moominland'. I've never read any Moomins books before, despite buying merch over the years. I'm finding both the books, and the illustrations, charming in a very 'Winnie-the-Pooh' sort of way and that can only be a good thing. Sniff makes me smile and reminds me a bit of Piglet. My blip contains some of the contenders for LBB15.

It was Norm's birthday so we met up for a coffee and I gave him a few bits and bats before he set off up to the Lakes. The caravan site opens today and he couldn't wait to get back up there :-)
